Let this be known, the author of this blog is not the magnificent Malia, but the jubilant Jamie.
So as I was told the plan on day four was a trip to Sienna followed by a tour of Florence. Now honestly I had heard of Sienna before, but the majority of my recollection was of the burnt (crayon color) persuasion, nonetheless I was excited. The day was sure to be filled with plenty of walking, and after the story about the Croc failure we were sure to wear our walking shoes. As of a couple days later I've heard no complaints yet. Good job ladies!

The square was incredible. Most people crowded immediately at the entrance just to absorb the entirety of the view. Clearly it could not be captured in one photograph. Malia and I agreed this closed in square would be perfect for a concert. Too bad it only hosted beautiful woman and stinky men.

Sienna was a beautiful maze of buildings. We ventured between many brick structures during our search for the sites. At one point we just had to rest. This picture captures the essence of the moment, problem is no one can figure out what was happening in that moment. Maybe Malia knew.

Also on our search, I found my next pet. His name is Herman. Love him.

Finally, we found this extravagant cathedral. The details were so intricate it was almost overwhelming. We took a tour inside and deeply respect any man who chooses to take on the task of designing a cathedral.

I shouldn't be that confused with the size of this doorknob after seeing the extravagance of the Cathedral. Still there is no way a normal person could turn this.

After another long train ride, and a small siesta on the train, we arrived in Florence. Now I must admit the whole time as we travelled to Florence I was confused that we kept following signs to Firenze. Finally it was explained to me the cities were one and the same. Why the two names people?

I was extremely grateful these two got a nap. Look at the energy it gave them!

Erika was thoroughly impressed by the size of Firenze wine bottles. Everything's bigger in Firenze!

Here is the clone of the David. He was beautiful and extremely photogenic, which I was grateful for. I was told you cannot photograph the original.

Firenze at night was breathtaking. Probably some of my favorite views were the Arno River at night. Such a romantic city.

At the end of the quick Tour de Firenze, we sat down at an incredibly cute restaurant and had an unusual but deliciouso pear ravioli with Gorgonzola cheese. We savored this dish. I drool thinking about it now.

Per Erika's suggestion we took our first taxi through Firenze to beat the clock and make the faster train ride home. A perfect non-running way to end the night.
