We all knew that day would come. Our last day in Tuscany. It came so fast, it was quite the whirlwind trip.
In 7 days:
- We visited 10 different cities in the following order: Torre del Lago, Viareggio, Monterossa, Pisa, Siena, Firenze, Lucca, Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, and Vernazza.
- We used every type of city transit except boat. Some of us experienced first class...
Some of us didn't...
- We drank an estimate of 10-14 cappuccinos or caffe lattes each
- Wine.... Well I won't estimate. I will just say we tried wine in each of those ten cities. They were always just a taste of course...
- We had a pasta dish and/or pizza 7 out of 7 days.
Some of the pasta dishes were even cooked by the great Chef Michael Lee with the freshest Italian ingredients bought from the market and used on the same day. He has really got himself in a habit, my mom might not let him stop.
- Jamie did get spaghetti
- We ate a delicious Italian sandwich almost every day. All great, but one in particular I will dream about.
- Sadly, we only had gelato 4 times (which I am fairly disappointed in, not even one a day!)
- One regret: not spending any time sitting and drinking coffee (or wine) and taking in these gorgeous views of Lake Massaciuccoli in Torre del Lago. What were we thinking? Jeri really had the right idea...
And THANK YOU so much to this great foursome. You guys are the greatest and I am so, so glad I got to experience a part of your trip. I love you guys!
And for one last time, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! You really know how to celebrate it in style and to spread the love over close to 6 months.
You are one classy lady!
